Treading in the footsteps of Monet, Seago painted a number of oils of the Thames at dusk from the Savoy Hotel on Victoria Embankment. In the present work, Cleopatra's Needle and Hungerford Bridge are silhouettes against the water and Big Ben and Westminster Abbey are silhouettes against the evening sky.
